Patrick Carter is a marketing and media professional and educator who is committed to helping students gain knowledge and skills they can use throughout their life and career. Patrick believes that education is the great equalizer.

Patrick has almost 20 years of college teaching experience and has written a book on how to be successful in college. He was the Creative Director at a marketing and advertising agency. Patrick worked for many years in the television and video industry, spanning from broadcast news to producing a wide variety of live sports. He has even designed a casino game that was sold in 2022.  Patrick served as a Regent for six years over the Nevada System of Higher Education. Most of that time he was chair of the Audit, Compliance, and Title IX committee. He also chaired a system-wide fiscal responsibility committee, as well as serving as vice-chair of the board. Before becoming a Regent, he was a Program Chair over Media Arts degree programs. 

Patrick has a Doctorate in business administration, doctoral work in Higher Education Administration, a Masters in Integrated Marketing and Management Communication, and Bachelors in Mass Communication with a dual minor in Technical Graphics and Computer Networking.  He is a lifelong learner and has recently completed two graduate certificates in the area of cybersecurity. Patrick is a certified Google Trainer, is  Certified in Cybersecurity by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, and has Nevada Business and Industry teaching licenses in both Marketing and Cybersecurity.

Patrick has lived in Kentucky, Missouri, Florida, and Nevada. When Patrick is not busy learning or teaching others, he can be found traveling, boating, and spending time with his family.
